I ahev checked my code, I can do even handling for any of the other controls in the form but nothing on this DropDownList. Thansk in advance. In my case, I had had a table nested within a table.
In the HTML window, this is underlined in red as invalid but, of course, you never see this if you are editing in Design view and just looking at that and your compiler output.
I have checked the handler logic in InitializeComponent; it is fine.
DropDownList onselectedindexchanged not firing with GridView Asp.net C#.
I am working in VS. Net Framework 1. All other controls on the webform work fine - buttons, checkboxes and datagrid select. I would greatly appreciate any insight or direction on where to go to get some actual help with this. I have found that when I cut a control off of a form in design view and then paste it inside another container control eg a GroupBox that the Handles clause of my pre-existing event code gets stripped off.Can you root huawei p30
Since that is at the end of the method declaration, I usually end up pulling my hair out for a while until I think to check that. I too was experiencing what others have reported - the postback occurs, but the SelectedIndexChanged event is not called.
A bit of a bummer if you want different items to return the same value. I got into this because the same timezone is called different things in different parts of the world. Same problem here. SelectedIndexChanged was not firing after initial page load.
Everything OK after one Page postback??? In testing, i found that the ddl can't postback the value I selected. I checked ViewState is set ture.
What's funny is that I have another user control with the same code and same entironment, that one works fine Now, if you create the drop down list in the server side and do not give it an ID, then it would get an ID automatically from the. The problem is when the ID it gets after the postback is not the same ID it got before the postback.
This could be due to many things. I did everything that everyone in the forum said. EnabledViewState everywhere. Nada folks. Since the value on each item is the same, in this case blank. It would not fire.

Sep 09, AM jfkrueger LINK I have a dropdownlist inside a modal window which is inside an update panel which is then in turn nested inside another update panel in order to set postback triggers. What gives? Can you also post your codes here sothat we can check it out? Sep 09, PM jfkrueger LINK Yes, i have placed a breakpoint on the event and that is how I know it is not firing and what prompted me to post here.
EnableViewState is set to true. Just to test I removed the nested updatepanel and the event still does not fire. I was pretty sure that wasn't the issue but just to test I removed the nested update panel and the issue still exists, the event does not fire. The event does fire for another dropdownlist in the exact same modalpopup but that is bound to an objectdatasource rather than being bound in code. I guess I can just try to bind this ddl to an objectdatasource. Why would it matter how it is bound? Just curious Am sorry, actaully I'm a bit confused about your question. I don't need to set the onselectedindexchanged property on the control as the vb handler has the Handles clause at the end of it.
I did try it that way at one point out of desperation but I got the same results. The problem is that the OnSelectedIndexChanged event isn't firing when the selected index is definitely changing. There are unique values in the dropdownlist and autopostback is set to true. It didn't have anything to do with binding to an objectdatasource rather than in code.
I tried binding to an object datasource and I still get the same results - the event does not fire. There are four other dropdownlists within this modalpopup window. This is so strange, I just am not getting itI'm having troubles with this and I can't figure it out. I have a databound asp:gridview sqldatasource with an asp:dropdownlist inside an itemtemplate. The dropdownlist has an onSelectedIndexChanged event listener but it doesn't fire.
I've added the updatepanel code because I figured it might be relevant. In the code behind, I made sure to bind the gridview only if! The event hasn't been triggered on changing index. I've finally found the solution. Searching the internet reveals this is not an uncommon problem. The solution however, is never too far away. I just let the gridview do the binding as usual by setting it's datasourceid. During my search, I've seen many people with a similar issue and I think this should fix a lot of them.
Or at least it's worth a shot :. Like you said its not an uncommon problem. I had the same problem myself, therefore I'd like to contribute with a check list to rule out some more common problems:. I had the same problem, for me the solution was to set values for the "Value" property of a ListItems.
So change the code as follows:. Info "it's alive! Any ideas? I'm glad that's over! IsPostBackViewState will save the chosen option and for your form if you have one That's all I could think of for now : hope it helps anyone! I found out about the updatemode just a few days ago. I am trying to get the selected row of the GridViewand I know that I should be able to get that information based on the OnSelectedIndexChanged event. Whenever I click on the row, the event does not fire. Any help with this would be appreciated. There is no code that I can see that resets its reference to another event, that I can see.
It's been a few years since this question was asked and I certainly hope the person with the problem got it figured out but I had the same problem and thanks to one of the responders I figured out what the problem was.Skyguider pro canada
For some reason that code, which is normally entered automatically wasn't added. If you are just clicking on the row in the GridViewthat will not fire the event. You have to have some kind of button in the row to click on, which will fire the RowCommand event, as well as the SelectedIndexChanged event if the row you click is not already selected, of course.
The easiest way to get the event to fire, is to add this attribute to your GridView markup:. You just have to add a little code to the RowCreated event. If you have postback code in selected index changing method you should false EnableEventValidation.
It's possible that you need to wire up the custom event to the control.Antonim bertuah adalah
